2022

  • I have just been chosen to be part of the training program for AGWA’s next intake of volunteer guides. A year of study, here we come!

  • More study on the horizon to compliment my Creative Schools endeavours and striking out with my lovely colleague, Naomi West, to create professional learning programs about teaching creativity for teachers. Exciting times!

  • A couple more art projects in the works for upcoming awards .. fingers crossed

August - November

  • I will be part of a group show curated by Sandra Murray and in conjunction with City of Stirling. ARTBIZ@SBC is showing at Stirling Business Centre in Balcatta and is showcasing City of Stirling artists in unexpected places.

  • Finalist in the Stirling Art Awards biennial with my lawn beetles.

June

  • I am looking forward to doing a masters unit in Creative Education at Sheridan Higher Learning Institute over the next 14 weeks and feel very inspired by our esteemed lecturer Mathilda Joubert.

April 2021

  • Creative Schools is happening again in term 2 & 3 this year! I will be working with FORM to assist Hudson Park Primary School with a shift in their creative teaching and getting to know a great bunch of students in year 2/3.

  • Between the Sheets biannual artist book exhibition is showing at the Tafe Gallery in Northbridge and I am happy to be showing my work there again this year.

July

  • I am really excited to be starting work with FORM on their Creative Schools Project this term. For the next 16 weeks a group of Perth creatives are going into schools to help teachers teach more creatively and cater to the needs of students growing up in a rapidly changing society. Looking forward to being part of a change in thinking for Perth’s schooling system.

January 2020

  • I am happy to announce that my new online store Closer Look Studios is now up and running on Etsy!

    It has a selection of my fine art prints for sale with more to come as the year goes on. They are printed to order on archival fine art paper as well as unique handmade cushions and more exciting products to be released in the next couple of weeks. November

  • New fungi sculptures are already underway for Sculptures on the Scarp, Darlington Arts Festival. All the sculptures are in an outdoor bush setting and this year will have lighting to make them look even more special by night!

October

  • This month I am very happy to be a juror for the Precious HK arts magazine Art Awards! Precious is a platform from Hong Kong that is enabling international emerging artists and arts students to showcase their work and give them some much needed public exposure. This quarter’s competition theme is ‘Reborn’ and I can’t wait to see the calibre of talent that is quietly working away out there. Find out more about Precious HK here.

September

  • My solo exhibition may be over but you can still see and purchase some of the framed prints from wonderful things are passing you by at the brand new Seasonal Brewing Co. in Maylands. The wonderful owners of The Seasonal, Nick and Emily, are exhibiting work by local artists, some of which is for sale, and you can also try their wonderful food and house made craft beer while you are there. Head on down to 175 Guildford Road, Maylands to check it out!

  • I’m very excited about the new work that is happening for wonderful things are passing you by. Its my first solo exhibition being held at Kent Street Gallery, East Victoria Park. New work and a new direction for me but also traces of the things I have already been exploring (yes there may be some fungi!)

    Opening night is the 13th of September 6 - 8 pm and it runs until the 24th of September, Tuesday to Friday 10 - 4 pm.

  • My artist book Post Reproductive is being shown at the Between the Sheets artist book exhibition alongside may other amazing pieces from local artists as well as the eastern states and overseas. It’s happening at Central Gallery (TAFE), Northbridge opening on Thursday the 29th from 6pm and it runs until the 21st of September.

  • My sculptural piece All the Things They Never Told You, is showing at Sequence & Consequence in a group exhibition exploring motherhood and parental relationships. It’s part of the amazing Perth Comic Arts Festival running at Edith Cowan University, Mount Lawley and curated by painter extraordinaire Liz Marruffo. Find it at Gallery 25, in building 10 at ECU and don’t forget about our artist talks on the 20th at 10 am where you can find out all about our process and the thoughts behind the work.

May

  • Come and support the improvement and maintenance of Rottnest Island at the Rottnest Foundation Art Exhibition. There are many incredible pieces on sale with all funds raised going to the foundation. It’s happening on May the 10th at 6pm and runs for the next week at the Holmes á Court Gallery, West Perth.
