It's all about the detail...

Shona McGregor is a multi disciplinary artist whose work focuses on the central theme of ‘the overlooked’.

Looking back, her love of the miniature and interest in perception may be attributed to her past life as an early childhood and special needs teacher both here in Australia and in the UK . Working with small children and individuals with autism has really focused her attention on not only what we see but how we see it and process that information. Whether it be an the abstraction of elements found in the tiny hidden spaces around us or examining the overlooked as a psychological space; she is seeking to give the viewer the time and headspace to consider what they are seeing and experience the sense of wonder we often seem to misplace as adults.

A recent Bachelor of Arts graduate in Visual Arts at Edith Cowan University and the winner of the Artsource Industry Award 2017; Shona is currently juggling family life with her two children, partner David and Boston terrier, Wilbur. She is enjoying her work with FORM as part of their Creative Schools program and the challenges that developing an arts practice provides.
